I believed I could, so I did. My career transition.
If I had known in 2015 that I would be where I am right now, I would have just laughed and said: "not possible - other people make those sorts of changes but not me, I am not brave enough".
At the time I was in a complete comfort zone. I was in a senior and safe position - I wasn't unhappy, but I wasn't feeling fulfilled either. The senior position I was in was not panning out the way I had once imagined it would. I was successful and outwardly one would never have realise

What is coaching all about?
I was reflecting on what to expect from coaching based on a comment made by one of my clients who, fairly emotionally, blurted out in a session:
"This is not what I was expecting. I was expecting to just put a plaster on some of my behaviors. I wasn't expecting to uncover a whole series of gaping holes in my life”.
Now being a human with beliefs, emotions and feelings, this comment threw me a bit as it really concerned me that I might have been pushing this client way

What are your choices about how you invest in yourself saying about you?
I keep hearing people complaining that they don't have time for themselves, they don't have the money to spend on themselves, they can't do this and they shouldn't do that. But that internal rhetoric is not helpful - I know because it has been a big part of my internal dialogue in the past. I know what it looks like from my perspective. CEO of your career? Or hiding in your career "back office"?
In the business of being you, are you in the CEO’s office, or some back office taking orders?
I don’t think it’s a novel idea to say that if we think about our careers as our business, then we are all the CEO’s of our careers. And yet, so many of us tend to treat our careers as if we are a passive stakeholder in the business, taking direction from others on where to go in our careers, rather than determining our direction.

Meet Briony Liber: My Journey, Motivation, and Mission in Career Coaching
Someone told me a while ago that my "about me" section of my website was a little sterile, and that I hadn't really done much to tell anyone who I am. Given that I write so many blogs and am constantly on social media, that was somewhat of a wake up call as I just assumed that I was making myself known through these platforms.
But I have taken the feedback and decided to write a blog all about me. Uggghhhh not easy. I would far rather be asking others about themselves.

What does success mean to you?
Success for me is about persevering when things get difficult, course correcting and finding workarounds when things block your way, and being resilient to failure. More importantly, success for me is about connecting with others, making a positive contribution towards the development of young leaders, and having conversations that raise curiosity, reframe perspective and help young professionals have lives and careers that are intentional and purposeful.
